Annual Road Program

Each year, the Department of Public Works reviews street conditions to develop its annual road reconstruction program. The program is based on a number of factors such as street and sidewalk conditions as well as past and planned utility work. The proposed program is presented to the City Council Committee on Public Works, which then reviews and makes recommendations to the entire City Council.

2024 Annual Road Program

Bromfield Street, Grandview Avenue, Mangano Court, Dwight Street and George Street have been selected for full reconstruction as part of the City’s 2024 Annual Road Program. Roadway reconstruction entails removing and replacing the existing roadway, regrading of the road, and rehabilitation of the roadway base. Per City Council directive, roads that undergo full reconstruction also receive granite curb installation, new concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons, and ADA-compliant accessible ramps.
