Communications Team
The Communications Team consists of the Community Engagement Specialist, Constituent Services/311 Director, and Social Media/Web Coordinator, working under the direction of the City Manager and Deputy City Manager.
Community Engagement
The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing meaningful engagement strategies between the City of Watertown and the community. They work closely with various City Departments on several projects aimed at accessing the Watertown community and helping community members have a voice.
This role is also responsible for developing relationships with community members and key stakeholders to best understand how the City can access and serve them most effectively.

311 Service Center
The 311/Constituent Services Director's primary objective is to improve customer service for the City of Watertown.
They are implementing a 311 call center for non-emergency inquiries. This will include the growth of a staff and managing the call center representative(s).
Their responsibilities include utilizing data to address hot topics and create a proactive, rather than reactive, customer service.; improving internal technologies, such as SeeClickFix and OpenGOV, to implement consistent processes across the city departments; and providing accurate data to department heads for purposes of accountability and transparency.
Digital Media
The Digital Media Manager is the storyteller for the City of Watertown, highlighting information about what is happening in city government and beyond.
They are responsible for the creative design, content and maintenance of the City website and social media accounts. This includes design, writing, and formatting all content to ensure that the website and all social media accounts are functional, accurate, ADA accessible, and up to date. They are also responsible for updating the public video monitors in City Hall, and the Soofa signs around the City.
This position maintains Watertown’s presence on various social media platforms, and creates and publishes content that is relevant to our constituents. They play an active role in the development of Watertown’s online community, and regularly analyze and report on the activity on social media networks as well as the Watertown website.
