Family Communication Plan
Designate one method for all family members to use to check in case of an emergency. Designate an out of town contact (make sure contact knows and agrees), email method, or call plan.
Other Communication Plans
- If you live in multi-unit housing, speak with the building manager about the emergency plan. Note evacuation routes and emergency exits.
- For school age children, know the emergency plan of the schools they attend and the appropriate contact number(s).
- Teach small children when and how to call 911.
- If know of people in your neighborhood who may require additional assistance during a disaster, such as the elderly, disabled, or those with a language barrier, create a plan with your neighbors to be able to accommodate their needs.
