E-Billing
Taxpayers may now sign up for e-billing.
The City of Watertown offers online services and bill payments for the following items:
Payments may be made online with electronic check or credit cards. The Electronic check option using checking account information is available at a $.50 charge by the Payment Service. Credit card payment is available for a convenience fee assessed per transaction by the Payment Service, not the City.
If your license or registration is marked at the Registry of Motor Vehicles for non-renewal due to unpaid excise tax and you elect to pay the outstanding excise tax online, once the payment has been processed the mark will be released from the Registry of Motor Vehicles within one hour. Thank you.
What did I pay in taxes last year?
To request paid tax statement please send an email to treascoll@watertown-ma.gov or send the request by mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Typically paid tax statement requests will be completed within 1-3 business days. Due to the volume of requests, the Treasurer’s Office staff will not be able perform tax payment research while customers wait at the cashier window or over the phone.
When requesting tax information please include following information:
Real Estate Tax: Name, Address of Owner, Property address (if different than billing address), time frame of payment information i.e.) 1/1/2022 thru 12/31/2022.
Motor Vehicle Excise Tax: Name of Registered Owner, address vehicle is garaged, and License Plate of Vehicle and Calendar year oof request: 2022
Water Bill Information: Owner or Name as listed on Water/Sewer Bill, property address service is billed, time frame of payment information i.e.) 1/1/2022 thru 12/31/2022.
Watertown Parking Management Plan
Watertown is developing a Parking Management Plan for Watertown Square and Coolidge Square. The Plan will take a fresh look at the existing parking supply, demand for parking, and look for creative ways to satisfy parking needs.

Municipal Lien Certificates
The MLC fees for the City of Watertown residential property increased from $25 to $50 effective July 1, 2017.
The fee schedule is as follows:
- $50 - One, two and three family residential property
- $100 - Four or more family residential property
- $150 - Commercial property
Please include a Stamped Self-Addressed Envelope for the timely return of your Municipal Lien Certificate.
